چکیده

A systematic study of the influence of exchange terms in the longitudinal and transverse nuclear response to quasielastic (e ,e8) reactions is presented. The study is performed within the framework of the extended random phase approximation, which in conjuction with a projection method permits a separation of various contributions tied to different physical processes. The calculations are performed in nuclear matter up to second order in the residual interaction for which we take a (p1r) model with the addition of the LandauMigdal g8 parameter. Exchange terms are found to be important only for the random-phase-approximationtype contributions around the quasielastic peak. @S0556-2813~98!02508-4#

Continuum random phase approximation method applied to the inclusive transverse electron scattering response.

A continuum random phase approximation ~RPA! method for evaluating the structure function of nuclear matter is developed, where exchange terms for any particle-hole interaction are explicitly included. The method is applied to the inclusive transverse quasielastic electron scattering response at momentum transfer ranging from q5300 to 550 MeV/c . The interaction employed is a g8 Landau-Migdal c...

Effective interaction in quasielastic electron scattering calculations

The transverse nuclear response for quasifree electron scattering is discussed. The analysis is done by comparing different calculations performed in the random-phase approximation and ring approximation frameworks. The importance of the exchange terms in this energy region is investigated and the changes in the nuclear responses due to the modification of the interaction are evaluated. The cal...

Quasielastic K-nucleus scattering

Quasielastic K-nucleus scattering data at q5290, 390, and 480 MeV/c are analyzed in a finite nucleus continuum random phase approximation framework, using a density-dependent particle-hole interaction. The reaction mechanism is consistently treated according to Glauber theory, keeping up to two-step inelastic processes. A good description of the data is achieved, also providing a useful constra...

Antisymmetrized random phase approximation for quasielastic scattering in nuclear matter: Non-relativistic potentials

Many-body techniques for the calculation of quasielastic nuclear matter response functions in the fully antisymmetrized random phase approximation on a Hartree-Fock basis are discussed in detail. The methods presented here allow for an accurate evaluation of the response functions with little numerical effort. Formulae are given for a generic non-relativistic potential parameterized in terms of...
